Meaningful feedback. Less grading chaos.

Clear the queue. Keep your voice.

Gradecade puts student submissions from different files and course platforms into one tidy Feedback Queue. Add files, paste responses from your LMS, or choose an optional connection later. Read each paper beside specific feedback based on your rubric, then edit every word before a student sees it.

YOUR FEEDBACK

Review before copying

Strength

Your central claim is clear and the example gives the reader a concrete point of entry.

Your response establishes a focused position and begins supporting it with a relevant example. In the next revision, explain why that example proves the larger claim…

Made from the real problem

I love teaching. I do not love hunting for 800 files.

I built Gradecade because grading across several courses and course platforms was turning into a scavenger hunt. A paper would be in a Word file, the next response would be typed into the LMS, and my feedback still had to make the return trip one tiny box at a time.

“I wanted one place for the papers, the rubric, and the feedback. Nothing flashy. Just the grading tool I kept wishing I could open.”

Everything lands in one queue.Files and pasted LMS responses finally follow the same process.

The feedback stays specific.Your rubric guides the substance, and Gradecade checks for repetitive phrasing.

You stay in charge.Every score and comment remains editable, and nothing posts automatically.

Your choice every time

Private when you want it. Connected when you want it.

Both options are valid. Connecting a school account will never be required just to use the Feedback Queue.

The honest privacy note: Gradecade checks for common identifying information, but no automated privacy check is perfect. Instructors still need to follow their institution’s rules for student work and AI tools.

BUILT BY AN ACTUAL ADJUNCT
“I want to remove the annoying part of grading without removing the professor from it.”

Hi, I’m Erica Shay. I have taught abroad, graded from the road during van life, and balanced courses across multiple schools while working on my PhD. Gradecade is the flexible, phone friendly workflow I kept wishing existed. Read the founder story →

From the grading trenches

Real notes from real educators.

I would rather have three honest reviews than thirty suspiciously perfect ones. Every comment here is shared with permission.

The review wall is waiting on its first brave professor.

No mystery headshots. No quotes from “Sarah T.” who may or may not exist. Founding educators can share the useful, the annoying, and the oddly specific.

Leave honest beta feedback

Public reviews are optional. The 10 paper feedback bonus is the same whether your note is glowing, critical, or somewhere delightfully complicated.

Honest answers

Frequently asked questions.

No inflated claims, no hidden LMS requirement, and no pretending an AI draft is a final grade.

Do I have to connect my LMS?

No. Private Mode lets you use files and pasted responses without authorizing an LMS. Optional integrations are a separate choice.

Which LMS platforms will Gradecade support?

The integration plan includes Canvas, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, Google Classroom, Schoology, Sakai, and Microsoft Teams Assignments. They will roll out individually after security and platform testing.

Can Gradecade open my LMS now?

Yes. Shortcut Mode saves the exact school portal you already use. It opens that page like a bookmark, but it does not read your courses or import submissions automatically.

Does Gradecade submit grades automatically?

No. Feedback and scores remain drafts until the instructor reviews them. Future Connected Mode will require an explicit approval action before returning anything to an LMS.

Why is pricing semester based?

Because instructors teach by semesters, not software company billing cycles. The $39 founding pass covers your first five month semester. The planned renewal price is $59, and the monthly plan can still be paused or canceled.

How do the 10 bonus papers work?

After you grade 15 papers, share honest beta feedback and I will add 10 more paper credits. Positive or negative, the bonus is the same. A public review is appreciated but never required.

Is Gradecade only for English instructors?

No. It works for any course with meaningful written work and clear grading criteria, including communications, education, history, social science, business, and discussion assignments.
