I genuinely love teaching. I do not love downloading forty files, losing one in my Downloads folder, fighting with three course platforms, or pasting feedback one student at a time. I’m an adjunct instructor, higher education professional, and PhD student. Eventually I got tired of wishing someone would fix the workflow, so I started building the thing I actually wanted to use.

I have taught English in South Korea and Ecuador, worked with multilingual learners, taught business English, created curriculum, advised college students, and taught online courses across multiple schools. The setting changed, but the important part did not. Students deserve feedback that proves their instructor actually read the work.
For a while I lived out of a van, taught adjunct courses from the road, and visited national parks between deadlines. It was fun, mildly chaotic, and a very thorough test of whether a grading system works from anywhere. This is why I care so much about making Gradecade genuinely usable on a phone.
I’m working on a PhD in Educational Leadership with interests in AI supported learning, curriculum, and knowledge retention. I want technology to help educators stay human. I do not want it to flatten every thoughtful comment into the same robotic paragraph.
Gradecade is not here to replace your judgment. It handles the irritating pieces around grading, including different file types, repetitive drafts, and moving comments back into an LMS. You still review every score and every word because the final feedback should sound like you.
Teaching is meaningful. Renaming forty files and copying forty comments into tiny LMS boxes is just rude.
