Founding access list
When you join the founding access list, Gradecade stores your email address, selected educator role, and signup time so we can contact you about beta access and product updates. We do not sell this information.
Private Mode student work
Files are read in your browser to extract text. Before text is sent to the feedback service, Gradecade replaces filenames with anonymous Student labels and checks for common email addresses, student IDs, Social Security number patterns, and lines labeled as a student name. No automated check can guarantee that every identifier is removed.
Classroom Hub and trends
Instructors can save classroom names, school and term labels, assignments, and rubrics. When you grade with a saved assignment and choose Copy and continue, Gradecade stores the suggested score and broad categories such as evidence, analysis, or organization. The Hub does not store the student name, paper, full feedback, or another student identifier with those trends. These anonymous patterns help create assignment summaries and teaching suggestions for you.
LMS Shortcut Mode
When you save an LMS shortcut, Gradecade stores the school label, platform, and exact secure web address you provide. A shortcut behaves like a bookmark. Gradecade does not receive your school password, read your courses, or import student work through that link.
AI processing
When the secure AI engine is enabled, selected submission text, the assignment description, rubric, feedback voice, and recent feedback openings are sent to the AI provider only to create the requested feedback. Gradecade is configured not to request storage of the model response. The current demo may show sample feedback created locally instead.
Instructor responsibility
Instructors must follow their institution’s requirements for student data, FERPA, assessment, and AI use. Do not submit work if your institution prohibits the use of an outside AI service. Gradecade does not claim that identifying information can always be removed perfectly or that every institution allows either workflow.
Retention and deletion
The grading workspace does not create a permanent class roster or intentionally retain student names. Refreshing the browser clears the active grading batch. Classroom Hub content, saved LMS shortcuts, and anonymous trend records remain available to the instructor so those features can work across sessions. You may request removal by contacting Gradecade.
